can we zip ALL the backups and not just the 'old' ones?

      We have scripts that copy our backups around and write them to tape and they are MUCH easier to manage (and faster too) if they are all zip files and not just the old backups.

          [JENKINS-14062] can we zip ALL the backups and not just the 'old' ones?
