      The recent versions of the Android repo tool support multiple local_manifest.xml files, and indeed recommend using multiple files instead of one:

      It would be useful to have this feature supported in the Repo plugin.

          In fact this would solve two issues. Add support for multiple local manifests and remove the warning about using the deprecated local_manifest.xml file.
