There is currently a separate plugin called "Job Type Column" that lets you add a column that shows what type of job it is:

      https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/Job+Type+Column+Plugin

It would be great if that plugin could be absorbed into this one, so that we can have only one plugin for adding extra columns.

Just saw this in the activity stream and have to ask: What's the actual advantage?

Having only 74 plugins in update center/plugin manager instead of 75 just isn't a big advantage...

          I agree with Dennis.
Having only one plugin for several columns instead of having separate plugins
for each column was and is the original goal of this plugin.

There is a plethora of Jenkins plugins available (which is great!). But it's important to keep the users from drowning
in too many plugins with limited functionality like the list view column plugins.

Currently there are more than 20 plugins for list view columns. If this number could be
cut down, it could also save administrative overhead (Wiki pages, changelog, JIRA components, github repos, etc.).

This issue has been fixed. It's included in version 1.10.

(not sure why this JIRA issue was not resolved automatically by the bot)
