Console doesn't say that the irc notifier is changing the build status.
What is the build result if you remove irc notifier?

It's generally not possible to improve a previously set build result, so it appears there's something else going on here.

No feedback from reporter. Probably a misconfiguration in the previous buildstep, so not related to ircbot at all.
