Jenkins installer not starting after finishing the installation on OS X El Capitan

      Description

      I downloaded the jenkins installer for mac. I'm running OS X El Capitan (10.11). The installer successfully finished the installation and opened the browser. Browser does not display the welcome page as expected. I checked for port 8080 but no process is running at this port.

      I downloaded the same installer on OS X Yosemite (10.10.3) and working completely fine as expected.

          Is Java installed on both machines? What happens when you run the java command on the command line?

          Same issue here.

          Seems like /var/logs/jenkins is owned by wheel and has only 744 perms.

          chown to jenkins or chmod to something like 777 and it works (unload and load with launchctl)

          I re-installed java and it started working. So might be something related to java. Thanks Daniel and David.
