The following commit seems to have broken functionality. This can be seen when clicking "Test Connection" from the Configuration screen---You'll receive an "Invalid System URL" error.

added a comment - This prevents us (I imagine anyone) from updating to this version of the plugin, since it makes the Checkmarx plugin unusable. We're stuck on 7.x till it's fixed, unless anyone knows of a workaround

I am trying to modify the maximum upload size https://github.com/jenkinsci/checkmarx-plugin/blob/master/src/main/java/com/checkmarx/jenkins/CxConfig.java#L27. However, with the bug which breaks the ability to authenticate to Jenkins, I am unable to change this on the most up to date commit. I will revert to the commit before this was broken and modify the upload size.

We have faced similar issue and I have fixed it by reverting the version to 7.5. I have upgraded the checkmarx plugin to 8 which started causing this issue. You have to manually download the 7.5 version from the archive and overwrite the same and restart the Jenkins server will fix the problem.
You can drop a note here if issue still persists.

It seems odd that they have released multiple updates to this plugin, but have not fixed this issue.

added a comment - cbchenoweth, which commit are you attempting to build? Their release path is not linear, which makes for some messy upgrades if you're running custom builds.

(our team is not in charge of the server that runs the scans.

In my experience, running CxSAST v8.4.1 with plugin v8.41.0 appears to be without error. This was not the case when CxSAST v8.0.1 was installed.
That said — They could possibly add that backward compatibility in future versions by disabling the newer functionality, but i bet they'll encourage users to upgrade

The Checkmarx server we are connected to is controlled by another team in our company.
So we are not able to control upgrades to that server.
We should be fine just staying on the older version of the plugin.
(Just wanted to know why it wasn't working. Didn't realize our checkmarx version was out of date.)

This doesn't just break the Test Connection button. You can't configure a scan since it can't connect to populate the dropdowns for Team and Preset.
