Can prune option (-P) on checkout be overridden

      Can we configure the CVS options so that the -P can be ommitted?
      In bug 696 it was "fixed" that cvs checkout does -P, but it should
      be possible to allow command line configuration so that -P is not required. We
      have a canonical dir tree for our projects and a canonical build script, and
      sometimes some dirs remain empty.
