"Back to normal" times reported in Slack notifications don't make much sense

    • Jenkins 2.12, Slack Notification Plugin 2.0.1

After I upgraded Slack Notification Plugin from 1.x to 2.0, I noticed that "Back to normal" times stopped making sense to me.

      Here is an example:

      • July 7, 5:26 PM Build #4898 is green
      • July 8, 10:22 AM Build #4899 fails
      • July 8, 10:57 AM Build #4901 goes from red to green. The build takes 1m:03s

Prior to 2.0 upgrade, Slack would report "Back to normal after 1m" for #4901 just like it does for other cases: green-to-green builds, etc.. Build time is very or the most important characteristic for any testing jobs: for performance, load or functional testing.

Now 2.0 reports "Back to normal after 17 hr". I understand that the intent was probably to show how long the build stayed red. (What it apparently does actually is showing time passed since the last green build, which is not the same.) However, unlike build times this metric has no significance to our team. We're trying to fix broken builds in any case.

Would it be possible to restore the old behavior or at least to provide an option to use build times in these notifications?
