(This is for release 1.338)

Currently, Hudson allows you to set a default view in the Global Config.

On a user level, there is also a default view option but this seems to be only the default for when you select the "My Views" option under that user.

It would be good if there was an option that allowed a user to select what their default view was that overrode the Global Config version so that when you visited the Hudson root page (and were logged in of course), you got the default that you want and not the system-wide / All view page.

[JENKINS-5318] Allow default view at user level

At the moment (Jenkins 1.429), the user default view can only be one defined under the "My Views". The user can't set a global view as its default. Allowing this would come in real handy. As the Release Manager, I create global team specific views and would be very glad if team members could have "their" team view as the default.

I'd like this as well. We have several builds for each of our projects and some of these overlap. We have global views set up for each project, and the ability for individuals to set their default to one of these would be very handy.

I think it would be handy to have per user configuration of default view. It would be great to see your view directly after logon without navigating to My views menu...

i agree. we currently have a lot of builds and to have them all loaded up when they login takes a while. it would be great if there was an option for developers to have My views as a landing page so they can get straight into the builds that is relevant to them.

This would be a great extension in Jenkins if every user could configure his start view.

At the very least, if it were possible to export a global view as JSON and import it as a "My View", that'd work to. Of course they'd eventually get out of sync with each other, but at least I've have some way of sharing views with my team.
