    • Jenkins version 2.204.1
Windows 10 build 1709 virtual machine host on ESXi with 12gig memory.

The Jenkins Master Java.exe process is constantly running and reading hundreds of different workflow.xml files, thus causing Windows to become less responsive.

The hard drive active time is showing 100% and disk i/o running under 50% both the Windows Task Manager and Windows Resource monitor.

      The two main resources are

      Java.exe and system are running.

An example of the files constantly being read/cycle through by the Jenkins Java.exe process (taken from the Windows Resource Monitor):

      Java.exe  PID:4332   C:\Program files(x86)\Jenkins\Jobs\Create-mac\builds\16\workflow\34.xml

There are many XML files, that it is cycling through within all our build jobs/pipelines and it never ends - it has been running for about 4 days (that we have noticed).

Has any one seen this with Jenkins via Windows Resource monitor before?
