The support core plugin currently captures slow requests grabbing those specific threads which are being slow.

However, when troubleshooting performance issues, it seems very important to take thread dumps when the CPU usage is very high - more than 90% of the CPU. We could use the metrics plugin to automatically capture full thread dumps under high CPU usage.

Probably, we should be doing the same under high heap memory.
