Ok, posted https://github.com/jenkinsci/jabber-plugin/pull/24 for the first shot to fix the urgent problem of broken UI (presumably, per precedent with similar plugins).

There is further work cleaning up those insecure oldskul input elements that timja is kindly doing in ircbot and instant-messaging-plugin, I linked to those PRs from mine, so you'd have easier time adapting those changes for jabber-plugin

There is a new problema introduced in 1.40. The Jenkins settings is not showing up jabber configuration settings and I can't see the save button on this page when 1.40 version is installed. I need to revert to 1.39.

1.41 tested and confirmed as fixed.

Revert to 1.39 resolve the problem.

Let's keep this Jira issue focused specifically on the tables-to-divs regression in Jabber. That issue has been resolved in 1.41. Regarding the "SSL/TLS required by client but not supported by server" error, I suggest opening a separate Jira issue without the tables-to-divs-regression label.
