This plugin would be the perfect solution for one of my problems, but unfortunately I can't use it, as the proxy settings are not picked up.

Using the proxy settings or adding a separate proxy setting next to the URL would be really useful.

This is the error I get when I try to use this plugin in an environment which requires proxy to reach the git repository:

org.eclipse.jgit.api.errors.TransportException: <git_url>: cannot open git-upload-pack

(This error is shown where the list of the branches and tags should be.)
