Migrate MathWorks Polyspace to Jakarta Mail

      As of Mailer 435.v79ef3972b_5c7 and Email Extension 2.90, the package namespace has changed from javax.mail to jakarta.mail. This plugin is still using the older package namespace, which may result in linkage errors. To resolve these errors:

      • Ensure the plugin depends on Jenkins 2.332.1 or higher.
      • If this plugin depends on Mailer, ensure the Mailer dependency is 435.v79ef3972b_5c7 or higher.
      • If this plugin depends on Email Extension, ensure the Email Extension dependency is 2.90 or higher.
      • Change any imports of javax.mail.* to instead import jakarta.mail.*.

          BTW, will existing plugins be impacted? Or do we have to upgrade only next time we build a new version of the plugin? Thanks!

          Hi sbobin, you can file a https://github.com/jenkins-infra/helpdesk ticket to change the default assignee in Jira for this component from Pascal Brand to you yourself. You can file a PR at https://github.com/jenkins-infra/repository-permissions-updater to edit Pascal's release permissions if desired.

          I have not tested, but I believe the email functionality of this plugin would be already broken on 2.332+ once Mailer is upgraded to 435.v79ef3972b_5c7 or later, as that is when the breaking change occurred.
