plot plugin should allow optional label text

      it would be nice to be able to specify additional text in the label of a 'dot'
      of a generated plot.
      In my case, I'd like to be able to represent the revision of the product for
      each dot. This would make pointing out when a regression has been introduced
      even more straight forward than it already is.
