Allow comments and whitespace in log parser files

      Allow comments like '# Match whatsis in the frobdang' and blank lines in the log parser pattern files.

      With a large file and/or complicated regular expressions, being able to describe what a section of the pattern file does or why some inobvious OK pattern is necessary is important for maintainability.
