The existing plugin checks for existence of a view storage directory and infers
the view exists if the directory exists. If the directory does not exist, but
the view does, the view creation step in the plugin will fail.

It would be good to check for both the existence of the storage location and the
view itself, and take appropriate action depending on options and configuration.
