Currently, building a package only works with a source format of 3.0(native), it does not work with packages that are in 3.0(quilt) format. This is due to the fact that dpkg-source requires the orig.tar.gz when creating the .dsc files to build.
The current workaround is to add in another build step or pipeline step to create the orig.tar.gz however it should be created for your specific package. It would be ideal if we could automatically create this using pristine-tar when we detect that the package is not a native package.
