"Failed to deserialize response to UserRequest" Error

      This was working previously but at some point of time recently the plugin stopped working with errors like:

       ERROR: ERROR: Failure to paint <path to source file on agent> to <path to job folder on controller>/cobertura
<time>  java.io.IOException: Failed to deserialize response to UserRequest:hudson.FilePath$WritePipe@70902a79: java.lang.SecurityException: Agent may not access a file path. See the system log for more details about the error ID '<GUID>' and https://www.jenkins.io/redirect/security-144 for more information.

      I am pretty sure the main change has been several upgrades of the Jenkins Controller (currently on 2.303.3, not sure when was the last time it worked) 

      Using plugin v 1.16
