Excessive logging causes the Hudson log to flood and memory to leak

    Description

      We see that the downstream build view plugin logs huge amounts of log messages continuously, flooding the Hudson log file and cause memory and disk space problem. Can the logging be turned down or is there any way that we can configure it to log less?

      We had to uninstall the plugin now because it was not sustainable.

            I had the same issue, tried to disable/uninstall but then got a ridiculous number of exceptions logging to catalina.out instead of just excessive INFO logging (even worse!). See: JENKINS-5207.

            I used logrotate to limit the log file's size, still the log file is growing too fast.
            This "May 4, 2011 8:34:39 AM org.jvnet.hudson.plugins.DownStreamProjectActionFactory createFor" appears very often.
            And the view is empty for all of my jobs.

            Env is Jenkins 1.410, Ubuntu Lucid 64 bits

            Setting this to Critical. Please remove the code that adds the log entries like "27.12.2011 14:49:05 org.jvnet.hudson.plugins.DownStreamProjectActionFactory createFor"
