On restoring a previous thinBackup backup set Jenkins was navigate to its homepage and as I had a view other than All configured as my default view it was poorly rendered and did not show any jobs. Somehow the config file was not linking the jobs to their views correctly.

Work around appears to be: Copy the jobs directory from a previous hudson_home directory (if you have one) and restart Jenkins (might need to restart a couple of times)
