            As far as I understand, that integration only concerns Jira cloud.
            As of today we can only use DVCS which can only be done by a github admin

            but I am pretty sure that reason why it's not enabled is because of the github api limit to small for the Jenkins organisation

            Possibly. But why would we not just switch to JIRA cloud?

            Something that I believe is not an issue for the new official integration, which is a GH App and thus is not subject to such low rate limits. (And since it was either written by or with GH staff, judging by where the blog appeared, it presumably uses rate limits properly and backs off when necessary.)
