Debian Repository doesn't contain previous versions of Jenkins

      Description

The Packages list at http://pkg.jenkins-ci.org/debian/ only contains the most recent version of Jenkins even though all of the previous ones are there. This makes it a PITA to downgrade Jenkins if it's installed via the Debian package.

That makes dealing with tickets such as https://issues.jenkins-ci.org/browse/JENKINS-16979 - which should be as simple as 'aptitude install jenkins=1.502' much more annoying.

Andrew Bayer, both Daniel Beck and I have talked about exploring the bintray option before. I'm in favor of it, but for hopefully obvious reasons, don't want to do any one-off syncs of just one form of binaries.

Yup, I'd be intending to do it as a full set of binaries for all platforms.

Bintray can't be a full mirror as they don't support replacement of the metadata files AFAICT. Would be a mirror for the binaries only.

Huh, lost a comment here. Anyway - so what I've done with Bintray in this sort of scenario before is not actually using its native RPM/Debian repositories, but instead just using it as a quasi-CDN via the Generic repository type, generating the repositories with createrepo/reprepro, signing them properly, etc, and then uploading the whole repository trees to Bintray.

Will this be fixed for the new Jenkins 2.x pakages?
