There are other types of projects besides maven projects whose artifacts get published in maven repos; two examples are grails plugins and projects using Ivy. Also, maven projects are not always built using Jenkins Maven jobs. Therefore it would be really nice to be able to expose the artifacts from any type of job (in my case Freestyle jobs), as long as it provides a pom.xml (the location of which should probably be configurable).
