I wanted to inform you of a regression in the JDK7 installer. All versions above update 21 ignore the INSTALLDIR parameter which means when the auto-installer runs, it'll clobber the system JDK.
You might want to disable the auto-installer for these versions (or hide them behind a confirmation prompt) until this issue is corrected.
I just emailed Oracle and will let you know once I receive a formal bug number.

It turns out that this was caused by an corrupt (incomplete) JDK installation. Once I uninstalled this version (Add/Remove Programs) the new installation ran just fine.
