      Description

      Currently this plugin only works with maven project. Dont see technical reason a free style project using which also use maven to run not able to take advantage of this plugin

          New Feature - A new feature of the product, which has yet to be developed. JENKINS-27366 Trying to enable "perform maven release" to free style project.

            Hi I am a very newbie to Jenkins plugin development, but willing to put time for this improvement. Very much appreciated if someone can layout the implementation strategies/steps as an initial step
