Java 5 fails with "zip file closed"; is it the expired certificate?

      Java 5 fails with "zip file closed". See nabble link.

      I assume it's because versions 287 & 288 are being signed by an expired certificate

      The workaround is to either go to earlier versions which weren't signed when the
      certificate had expired or move to Java 6.

          What's strange is that 286 works and that's signed when the certificate had
          already expired (by some 3 days).

          Switching to Java 6 worked for me but not others at the Nabble link
