any chance this has timeline scheduled to be fix or implemented? this is currently the blocking item for us to adapt ldap authentication.

JENKINS-39065 Fail-over user to fallback when there are authentication issues

I've setup AD authentication, but unable to login with fallback user, it just said: Invalid username or password.

Also, if I choose Matrix-based security, I'm unable to set permissions for that user from internal database.

Can someone help me with it?

I'm seeing the same issue max_ua and lily are seeing. When set to use active directory, I can't log in using local-only account credentials.

Same here. Configured jenkins to use Active Directory and local user cannot log in.
