Description
We put a lot of useful information in the description of our job names.
It'd be useful to include a mouse hover on the job name that included the description. This would prevent users from always having to click on the job to read the description.

Please see the Compact Columns plugin (http://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/Compact+Columns). The latest release of this plugin has a column exactly as you describe.

Should be considered fixed, because the suggested resolution "write a plugin that makes a view column to do this" has been done, albeit in an existing plugin.

You could write a plugin that makes a view column to do this (same as the builtin job-name view column except with the title attribute you want).
