Sometimes it is desirable to disable sending e-mail entirely.

It would be helpful if email-ext-plugin (or jenkins itself) had an option to do this with one click, i.e. a checkbox, or something similar to Jenkins shutdown mode.

We currently disable e-mail by specifying a non-existing mail server, but that's an ugly workaround imho.

If you need a valid use case: I have cloned our ci server in order to prepare for a system upgrade (we have too many Java 8 Jobs which were broken by Jenkins' latest upgrade to 2.361). Many jobs on the clone fail, sending confusing failure emails to the dev team. Configuring 200+ jobs not to send mails is tedious, so I need a global option.

This is what the Emergency Reroute field in the global config is for. It does require a valid email address though.
