hide source code if user does not have access to workspace

In deprecated plugin "code Coverage", when a user without rights to access the workspace (but with reading access to job) was checking a specific build, the code coverage report was visible but the source code files were not accessible. It is possible to add a similar feature in the non-deprecated plugin "Coverage"? Currently the source code is fully visible.

Yes, this has been asked for in my warnings plugin as well: JENKINS-61038.

Maybe it makes sense to provide such a permission by Jenkins core as it is could be used by several plugins.
