      The chechout of the with subversion plugin is much slower than the chechout with the shell command.
      I'm using the plugin to do the checkout/update in a slave machine via https. In the same machine were the slave is running the same update is like 3 times faster with svn 1.6 client.

          Sorry but I don't see this as a duplicated of the the other issue.
          Beside all the differences the other issue was "solved" in 2009 and I'm still having the problem.

          Can you give us bit more details? How slow compared to command line, the kind of repository you are connecting, etc.
