Our use case is that every so often we want to perform a build but temporarily disable ftp publishing. But then, next time when we want to build, we have to reconfigure ftp. A checkbox with "Disable (e.g. Temporarily)" would be perfect, and then internally, the plugin would just skip itself. (Similar to the many maven plugins that allow a "skip me" command line argument)
