Branch specifier does not replace matrix build variables

      Using a matrix build variable in the "Branch Specifier" setting does not work.

      Example:

      • Job is a matrix build job
      • Configuration matrix has one axis, name "CONFBRANCH". One of the values is "master'.
      • Git "Branch Specifier (blank for default)" is set to "origin/$CONFBRANCH"
      • When building, the branch is NOT origin/master as I'd expect but origin/$CONFBRANCH which obviously does not exist
