The ec2 instance type selector is out of date - I cannot pick hi1.4xlarge as an instance type for an SSD backed slave.
The drop down list of types is useful but it should be overridable with a text field for times where a new instance type is available before the plugin is updated. It has been 3 months since this instance type was made available.

added a comment - The latest version of the plugin added a lot of the new machine types, which is great.
In fact, I see all of the available machine types except the cr1.8xlarge. Please add that, too.

added a comment - We will try to do something that picks them up from the AWS SDK. 
I'm interested in cr1.8xlarge myself.
The better long-term fix would be to use an AWS API, but there doesn't seem to be one yet. https://forums.aws.amazon.com/message.jspa?messageID=385373
