The Job Configuration and System Configuration windows are just intolerable. If I go in and manually set the max-width of the div.CodeMirror-lines>div>div to, say, 40em, the window behaves better. See attached screenshots. Even if you can't fix this quickly, a workaround using the "simple theme" plugin would be most appreciated!

Apparently Jenkins > Configure System > Markup Formatter > Disable Syntax Highlighting cures this! Please, if you can't fix it, at least disable syntax highlighting by default. Take pity on new users!

They're as wide as necessary to display your code in full.

It's trivial to press Return/Enter to insert a line break or two to keep lines short. In HTML, this doesn't even show up in the output.

Probably not a bug unless there's no way to do this without affecting output.

BTW, the automatic line spacing could be a very useful feature.
          Just an example...

          1. UserA creates a job using his computer with a new 27" display
          2. UserB opens the job on 13" laptop and sees the very long horizontal scrollbar

The issue seems to be a valid improvement request.
It is not a bug, of course

I have no idea what I was thinking when I resolved this. My apologies.

My comment just means there's a simple workaround, not that this isn't a bug.

However, it's not as bad due to presence of workaround.
