      Hi,

my Hudson Installation runs on a Windows Server 2003 with Apache Tomcat/5.5.23
      behind Apache with SSL.

Logon on our Active Directory runs over AD Plugin.

There are two AD Groups Admin and User. The only difference between the two
groups is that only Admins are allowed to administer Hudson (makes sense).

My Problem is if somebody from the user group wants to create a new Job he gets
a 403 Exception from the System.

      HTTP Status 403 -

      type Status report

      message

description Access to the specified resource () has been forbidden.
      Apache Tomcat/5.5.23

[JENKINS-1718] Error 403 when creating new Job

So just to make sure, the expected behavior was that the user won't even see a link?

You set it so that only admins can create jobs, right?

          Hi,

no the Users from the User Group are allowed to create Jobs.

I have 3 User Groups: Admins, Users and Anonymous.

          • Admins, have ALL rights
          • Users have ALL rights EXCEPT 'Administer'
          • Anonymous are only allowed to 'Read'

I tried this on one workstation with different logins from 'Admins' and 'Users'
so it has nothing to do with some kind of ssl errors or something like that.

Only Users from 'Users' get this Error.

This was probably fixed as part of issue #2715 (mostly about validators on
config screen, but also fixed validator on newJob page to not require admin
permission). Please retest on 1.268 or newer and reopen if there is still an issue.
