It would be good, if only the Snapshot versions could be removed from the Local Maven Repo. That is already supported by http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-dependency-plugin/purge-local-repository-mojo.html and also by Nexus (http://blog.sonatype.com/people/2009/09/nexus-scheduled-tasks/). If that job would keep a configurable number of SNAPSHOTs, similar to the Nexus "Minimum Snapshot Count" option that would be even better.
