Configuring a job falsely reports an error entering a SVN url that starts with a variable reference

      I defined a Global variable $SVN_ROOT as "svn+ssh://server.....".
      When I using this as a SVN "Repository URL", an error is shown: "Invalid URL syntax. See this for information about valid URLs."

      It's clear that's the UI field validation is not doing the variable subsitution. While Jenkins continues to function correctly and DOES substitute for the variable, it should not show the error.
