Instead of Gearman holding it's internal queue of jobs to be triggered it would be great if there was an configuration option to allow Gearman to schedule all it's build in the ordinary Jenkins queue.
For us this would allow:
- To get correct scheduling order between builds triggering between Jenkins and Zuul. Today jobs triggered by Jenkins are always triggered before jobs triggered by Zuul.
- See the build queue in Jenkins and be able to get statistics about overall build queue length in one place.
If you are only using one Jenkins Master with Zuul the current implementation of Zuul with Gearman does not add any value.
First added at https://storyboard.openstack.org/#!/story/2000255 but zaro said that we should use JIRA instead for gearman issues
