After updating hudson to the latest version I experienced login problems
(passwords doesn't work). After some searching in the files I manually switched
off authentication in the settings.xml file. Then I've reset all passwords. When
watching the hashes I notified that the way of password hashing in this version
has been changed and an automatic update did not update the password files.
After an update all users can't login anymore. I founded a manual solution, but
is it possible to make a more automatic resolution for this problem? Also in the
changelog I haven't seen anything about password hashes.

          [JENKINS-3062] Password hash changed

          changelog entry is in 1.283:
Hudson's own user database now stores SHA-256 encrypted passwords instead of
          reversible base-64 scrambling. (issue 2381)
