I'm using the jobcopy plugin to copy an existing job, but I need to modofi the original, not the copy.
The use case is that I rename the proj-build-develop job to proj-build-release_XX, so that all the old develop builds are preserved as part of the release job.
Then I copy the proj-build-release_XX back to proj-build-develop, so that the develop job has an empty build list.
The one item remaining is to change the branch in the proj-build-release_XX job, which I can't do because it was just renamed, and not actually copied.
Maybe this would be better as a separate plugin, ie: the ability to replace text in jobs.
