Most of the organizations have standards surrounding how the SCM comment is
structured. While doing a maven release, the maven release plugin commits to
the SCM for tagging and bumping the version number. It would be nice if this
plugin provided a feature to request for the scm comment and apply it at the
time of COMMIT.

A generalized variable would do the job.
