If it is still an issue in the latest release then file a new issue and link back to this one. It still happens with 2.2; can't test newer versions because there are no packages. Still, 2.2 is much younger than the referenced bug.

Hi,

what is the version of the IRCBot and the instant-messaging plugin you're using?
What is exactly the error and how can I reproduce it - i.e. does it depend on the github-oauth plugin as in the original issue?

The IRC plugin is at version 2.27; oAuth is not installed.
The instant-messaging plugin is 1.35.

Here's an example transcript:
