Jenkins should always send usage statistics over HTTPs

          Do we really want this in lts? I suspect potential certificate problems are not worth the benefits, as I understand them.

          olivergondza, I think it would be nice to have in the LTS branch, but not a huge show-stopper if it is not.

          The only issues I have seen with the letsencrypt based certificates have been from JDKs on Mac OS X which are not using the system trust store. Since this would be executed in the browser, I do not anticipate any issues as we have not had any reports of people unable to browse to jenkins.io from any modern systems.
