      The "Credentials" option drop-down in the 'Cloud' section of the 'Jenkins Configuration' page never contains any options other than -none-

      This makes it impossible to use the plugin with a docker server that requires authentication.

          docker-plugin do support TLS keys+certificate authentication.
          I don't know about Rancher, but if this authentication method is supported you should rely on it.
