To reproduce:

clean install the https://github.com/jenkinsci/blueocean-plugin/pull/904 branch of blue ocean
Add a multibranch pipeline via the github creation flow
Open a branch to edit it
Make a change, and save it as a new branch name

It will return a github error saying "not found" or similar.
