Mask Passwords Plugin is not masking default value of password parameter

    • Jenkins ver. 2.46.1 with default plugins (fresh installation) + Mask Passwords Plugin 2.10.1

When password parameter value is not entered on "Build with parameters" but default value is used - this value is not masked, appears as clear text in Console output.

When value is entered masking works great.

Workaround for this issue is to specify Regular Expression for masking default value - something like /\bsupersecretpassword\b/ then masking works fine.

Hm, it's probably a valid defect after the fixes.

Which Password Parameter do you use (there are several ones in the core and plugins)?

Sorry, I was unable to find any time to work on this plugin. I have decided to mark it for adoption, so anybody is welcome to take ownership and to work on this issue.
