Attempting to create a generic step in blue ocean editor for a pipeline of the form:

checkout scm

Chose the "Generic SCM" step and tried various values for the scm field including "scm", "${scm}", and "git". In all cases, when I go to Save and Run the save dialog hangs and never returns and Jenkins does nothing further. I can go back and escape and still work in the editor.
