    Description

It is uncomfortable to temporary disable a build step in job configuration. The
only way currently to remove it. It would be good to have an enable/disable
      checkbox.

sdarwin Nobody disputes that. It's just a matter of priorities and finding the time to do this. As usual, contributions welcome

FWIW I had a prototype of this in https://github.com/daniel-beck/jenkins/commit/18d434fa6bf8b3efc8b0b39cb9cc064368dc4bec but it was shot down by jglick, complete with explanation how to do it right.

FTR any build step with descriptor overriding newInstance will not be compatible with my previous approach AFAICT. It's not just the ones with readResolve.

I don't expect I'll have the time to implement this any time soon.
